Adios Goin’ West, Hola busy busy busy!

Posted in Improvathons, News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 19, 2013 by improprietyliverpool

It’s hard to believe that Goin’ West the 2013 Liverpool improvathon is over!! And we would like to say the biggest THANK YOU to everyone who contributed in any way.  The event would be impossible without the help of a million talented and wonderful people!  You can still read the Doctor Captain’s 33.5hr blog that covered the whole event.  Also check out our Facebook page for some awesome photos.

So what next we hear you cry. Well, there really is no rest for the wicked, or for people who like making stuff up anyway!

Over the past few weeks we have been bringing improv to 27 14 year olds over in the Wirral as part of their drama GSCE classes.  Apart from a small obsession with Hitler they’re creating some wonderful scenes as we prepare them to perform in front of their parents and teachers.

Excitingly, this spring and summer brings you a number of free events and Impropriety are taking part in some of these.  Next week sees World Book Day/Night and we will be helping spread the literary love for Liverpool One and the BBC at St George’s Hall.  Check out our Forthcoming Shows & Workshop page for details.

We also have an improv workshop for anyone who has ever fancied making stuff up & making people laugh.  All abilities are welcome!! Again, check out our Forthcoming Shows & Workshops page.

May & July – we have Light Night, Improvageddon AND The Kazimier Garden to look forward to!! Tickets for Improvaggedon are available from The Unity.  It promises to be the improv battle of the year!! All profits go to the charity of the winners choosing!

Will that do you for now???

So the world didn’t end! Yippee!! And what a good thing that was.  Here at Impropriety Towers we have SOOOO much planned for 2013 that if it had ended, we would have been mightily peeved!

But what a year it’s been.  A season launch, an awesome improvathon with fabulous Die Nasty visitors from Edmonton, a 6 week victorian soap opera, spooky goings on in St George’s hall, Light Night, Improvaggedon and all our usual shenanigans at MelloMello.  We’ve also had Improprieters perform in improvathons in London, Bristol and all the way over in Canadia!

And we have many more things up our sleeves for 2013.  It’s going to be AWESOME!!

But for now we’d like to thank EVERYONE who has helped in any way, big or small, throughout the year.  There are a lot of wonderful people who have helped Impropriety have an awesome 2012 and we hope that everyone will jump on the made up train for 2013 & enjoy the ride with us! You never know what’s going to happen – it all comes out of our brains!!

So have HAPPY CHRISTMAS & A FANTASTIC NEW YEAR, see you all next year and here’s a little Christmassy dance from Angie, Ian & Rosie to please your eyes – Click Here

September Salutations

Posted in Improvathons, Improvised Soaps, News, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , on September 13, 2012 by improprietyliverpool

September is here….how did that happen?? And as usual, those at Impropriety Towers has been beavering away!

The beginning of September saw our Improprieters returning to Mello to perform in “Double Trouble” – a new format to us all, where 4 teams of 2 fought to win the audiences vote. Having 15 minutes each, teams could choose whatever they liked…and of course, hilarity ensued.  Team Trev/Ian were the worthy winners.

It is also that time of year where some of us have jumped on a plane and jetted off to Canada to take part in the Die Nasty 20th Annual 50 hour Soapathon, which this year is based on the theme Game of Thrones.  Presenting SOAP OF THRONES.  Improprieters Katie Cross, Trev Fleming, Helen Foster, Lauren Silver, Angie Waller and Rosie Wilkinson will be joining some of the worlds most prolific improvisers to go just a little bit mental.  If you don’t already you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter to watch their sanity slowly unravel!
And finally – keep your eye out for the fortnightly workshops starting up again.

Salut!

TODAY: The Improvathon begins

Posted in Improvathons with tags , , , , , , on March 3, 2012 by LeeIsserow

At 1pm we’ll be kicking off a hilarious adventure into the bowels of a fictional TV channel.

33.5 hours of improv used narrative, divided into 17 episodes, starting at 1pm.
Doors open at 3, 5, 7 etc through the night and deep into tomorrow.

Keep track of the narrative (with no-doubt hilarious tangents and distractions) at the LIVEBLOG and stray quotes/photos on Twitter; #Improvathon2012.

TOMORROW: The Liverpool Improvathon 2012!

Posted in Improvathons with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on March 2, 2012 by improprietyliverpool

In less than a day over 30 performers will be forgoing sleep for 33.5 straight hours – 2012 sequential minutes – for your entertainment.

Before your very eyes an epic narrative will be woven, and nobody knows where it’ll end up.  Some will live, some will die.  Some will love, some will… also die.

Not only does this show feature Impropriety regulars, but we’ve also got some spectacular comedy geniuses from London and CANADA, where this insane format originated.

These improvised comedy marathons happen a couple of times a year, so if you’re in the neighborhood you should very much check it out.

£5 for just one 2 hour show, or £25 to come and go as you please for the full 33.5 hours.

If you can’t make the whole show, but want to know how it pans out, the whole thing will be liveblogged by our sleep-not-needing award winning directorfriend Dr. Capt. Lee Isserow.

Hope to see you there!
